hold on. let me explain. Newt had a girl friend. before Newt became Mew she had an egg. The Saif you see isn't the same one as the one on team Hope In Friends.

Newt The Mew is 517 years old in present time. THAT Saif on this page is the present Saif's (the dewotts) great great great grandfather from 500 years ago.

Zander the oshawott is Zander the Riolus great great great grandfather. who later got a riolu girlfriend.

That means present Saif The Dewott and Zander The Riolu are related to Newt. They just don't know it.
